DAY ONE

Breakaway
Breakaway first day. We had a heavy frost and Firday started cloudy and very cold. During the day we saw some sunshine appeared before it clouded up and got Dark again.

 

 

Brace 1 Blues' Tomaka Belle with Sharon Townley and Bryant's Town Snake Eye's with Johnny Lewis.Brace 1
In the pictue above Butch is backing Belle. Belle had three Unproductives in very heavy cover, and one find at 46. Belle worked well with handler and hunted the entire course.


Now it is Belle's turn to back Butch. Bryant's Town Snake Eye's known as Butch, set the bar for the day. Hunting the course hard and with plenty of style. He backed his bracemate earlyand went on to have 3 stylish finds including one covey find.
Brace 2

Brace 2 Yankie Ginnie Girl with Frank Skut and Bob's Elhew Wendy with Bob Phillips

Wendy backed her bracemate (above) then
went on to have one unproductive in heavy cover and 3 nice finds but had happy feet after flush on two of them.

Girl had one nice find (above on the right) and then backed her bracemate twice, although she lost some style for a moment on one of her backs.

Amen had an unproductive at 5, then had a stylish find and backed his bracemate twice.

Jack had four stylish finds and one back.

Brace 3 Pecan Grove Amen with Robert Baker and Fox Cobble Jack with William Whigham.

Tenacee DD with Greg Isenberg

Brace 4 Tenacee DD with Greg Isenberg and Quinton Oak Budlight with Johnny Lewis. Bud scored two finds but had movement on his first find.
DD was not having her best day was found on point buried deep in the cover on the left of the course before the pond but handler could only produce the birds head. at 42 she a lapse of judgement and handler elected to pick her up and she out of the trial.

Brace 5 Bob's Miller sue with Bob Phillips and Richfield Stella with Claudia McNamee.

Sue had her running shoes on also and suffered an absence early in the brace then found on point at 38 and went to have two more finds.

Stella had a breakaway that the judges standing in the saddle as she covered the ground in style. She backed her bracemate at 56. However she was unable to connect with a bird during her hour.
Brace 6 Brace 6 Crowd Pleaser with Meredith Jones and Bye. Pleaser scored a four finds with a lapse of manners on one and put down a nice race.

 

DAY TWO

Day two the weather was slightly warmer and a lot more sunshine. Overall the weather was very nice in the low 50's for a high.

Brace 1 Bob's Miller Sue with Bob Phillips and Crowd Pleaser with Meredith Jones
It is nice to start the day with a nice brace of dogs and this brace was a joy.
Crowd Pleaser known as Ricky scored first at 9, again at 12, then at 21 she was found standing and Sue backing (Picture on the Left). Then at 31 she backed sue at 31 (picture above) and again at 58. Sue was gone at breakaway and found on point at 17, then backed her bracemate at 21. She also had stylish finds at 31, 45 and at 58, however was not seen between points. Brace 1
Brace 2 Brace 2 Richfield Stella with Claudia McNamee and Quinton Oak Budlight with Johnny Lewis
Stella ran a very eye appealing race, she had a stylish unproductive at 15 (Picture to the right) but just could not connect with a bird. Bud was hunting the course hard and at 35 scout called point with all in order (picture above) and then had an unproductive at 58 Brace 2

Yankie Ginnie Girl on Point.
Brace 3 Pecan Grove Amen with Robert Baker and Yankie Ginnie Girl with Frank Skut. Amen had his running shoes on and was not seen after breakaway and was picked upon returning to his handler.
Our judges Tommy Stargell on his knees looking for the birds in the thick cover. ( Both Tommy Stargell and Til Hinkley went out of their way to help all the handlers and help spot the birds.)


Yankie's Ginny Girl snapped into a point at 13 but handler was unable to produce a bird. She went on to have a find at 23, 35, 40 and 50. At 57 (picture to the left.) he had another unproductive in heavy cover. Ginny Girl handled very kindly showing maners and style on her birds.

Brace 4 Blue's Tomoka Belle with Sharon Townley and Fox Cobble Jack with William Whigham

This was another very enjoyable brace to watch with both dogs showing some style and animation on the ground.

Jack was running a little strong and his handler worked hard to keep him in line. He had two very stylish finds along with two backs. For a nice clean run.
Belle was very animated on the ground today sliding into point at 23, she had one back and 3 nice finds before suffering a lapse in manners just before time.

Brace 5 Bryant's Town Snake Eye's with Johnny Lewis and Bob's Elhew Wendy with Bob Phillips

Bryant's Town Snake Eye's had his running shoes on and then disappeared at about 37 and was not seen again during the brace. ( Later was found buried up on point.) Wendy scored three nice finds but still had some happy feet.
